I was just telling a co-worker about how I laughed all the way through boot camp in 1975 because of a guy named Bob Keener from Baldwin, NY. I googled him and found this obit. Sad to see it, but it was how I remember him.
One night in the barracks, Robert was dragged around the floor while laying on a blanket pulled by someone else. He had struck a corpse pose, and recited Latin. (He was the Catholic liason in our company). In Corps school at Great Lakes, he was one of my roommates. We use to play cards (Hearts, 45) and the loser had to make the hot chocolate run.
Rest in Peace, and thank you for the laughs when we needed them most.
