I am lucky to have known Tom for over 20 years in my role as a parent of a son with autism and severe developmental disabilities, and as a parent advocate. He was one of the brightest and kindest people I have met, particularly in the field of developmental disabilities. It is a tremendous loss. I am very saddened. And send my thoughts and prayers to the entire Dern family. He was there for me when my husband died three years ago, and I hope you know I am here for you in spirit as well.
