Obituary for Joseph J. Sumner

Sumner, Joseph J. of Freeport, on December 22, 2014. Devoted husband of Carol (nee Andersen). Adored uncle of Eric Mowdy (Indre). Beloved son of Mercedes and the late Joseph. Loving brother of Mercedes, Anne, Mark, John, Jimmy (Jennifer), Barbara (Jimmy) and Susan. Dear son in law of Inger Andersen and the late Gilbert. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and Max, Benny and Sam. A revered man. Hard working, Intelligent, Honest and humble. A teacher, loving and funny. Retired building inspector for the Village of Freeport. The family will receive friends Friday 2-5 and 7-9 PM at Cecere Family Funeral Home 2283 Grand Ave. Baldwin, N.Y. 11510. Cremation private.
