Steven Gisone passed away June 5, 2022 at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson. He was a resident of Port
Jefferson Station for many years. Steven grew up in Baldwin, NY, and was the “middle child” of three
brothers. He was a popular student at Baldwin Senior High, where he graduated in 1972. He continued
his education in an engineering program for the marine industry in Baltimore Maryland. He was happy
as a child and was blessed with a great sense of humor. He shared the same love for boating and fishing
on the south shore as his father and brothers. He had many friends in his youth, due to his attractive
personality, but was soon burdened with emotional illness which he suffered from during his entire life.
Nevertheless, Steven’s accomplishments included working with Frank M. Flowers & Sons as deckhand in
Oyster Bay (shellfish cultivation and harvesting) for years. He also pursued his interests as a machinist at
Armando Associates, Spellman High Voltage, and in production line packaging at Estee Lauder. Steven
also loved to write, and while he was not published, it provided an outlet for his creativity. Steven was
blessed with an innate interest in scripture and so saw the many challenges in his life through the lens of
his firm belief in, and love of our Lord. He loved his mother and father and was a loyal brother; he will
be missed.
Steven was 67 and is survived by his brother Paul and his wife Donna Gisone of New Vernon NJ, and his
many cousins. He is pre-deceased by his brother Frank Xavier (December 2021), and parents Frank and
Mary. Many thanks to Wayback Inc. in Port Jefferson, Cecere Family Funeral Home, and St. Christopher
Church in Baldwin. Steven was laid to rest at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, NY June 11, 2022.
