Joyce Gloria Silvera, age 91, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on Saturday evening, May 15, 2021 at her home. She was born December 21, 1929 in Kingston, Jamaica, the daughter of Sylvia Alberga and Clarence Daley. She lived in Kingston, Jamaica and was married to Desmond Owen Silvera in September 1949, before moving to New York in January 1962. Throughout her life, she enjoyed the art of needlepoint, baking, gardening, was an avid reader, and spent considerable time with her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Harold Minto of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and, two sons, Cornel Silvera of Brooklyn, New York and Donovan Silvera of West Palm Beach, Florida; and, by six grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other beloved family members and friends who will sadly miss her. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother Kenneth Warner of Kingston, Jamaica. A private service with immediate family will be held.
