Family and friends, thank you for coming to help celebrate the life of Juliet. Juliet Everleel Lemaster the daughter of Dorothy Francis and Gilbert Lemaster was born on January 10, 1951 in St. Andrew, Jamaica. She met and later married the love of her life, Charles Spencer Ballentine on November 2, 1968. In 1971 she migrated to the United States where on November 21, 1971 she gave birth to her first child, Charles Jr. Four years later on January 23, 1975, she welcomed a daughter, Nadeane. Juliet was the oldest of six girls. She had a great love for her children, her sisters and her entire extended family. The Ballentine Home was always filled with family as the she loved to bake and cook. Affectionately referred to as “Aunt Jul”, she took care of everyone around her including her beloved husband until he passed away in March of 1988 from Sickle Cell Anemia.
She always had a great faith in God, reading her Bible and Daily Bread each morning especially during the last several years of her life when she no longer had the strength to attend church services. She adored her grandchildren. Sydney and Gavin were both lucky to have her close by to love and take care of them as babies and later as they were growing up. Everything she did was for her kids and her grandkids.
She was a selfless person. Whenever there was a family member or friend in need, she was always there to lend a helping hand. Her love extended way beyond her own family. She loved all the kids around her like they were her own.
In the last couple of years, she joined a critical illness support group at the local library and bonded with a small group of folks that were living with a variety of sicknesses. She enjoyed playing puzzles and slot machines games on her iPad and she loved online shopping. Her most recent achievement was becoming a U.S. Citizen in May of 2017. She studied for many weeks in preparation of her interview and was delighted the day she was sworn in.
Juliet is survived by her son Charles, his wife Jacqueline, her daughter Nadeane and son in-law Michael, her beloved grandchildren, Sydney, Gavin, Jonathan and Eliana, her mother Dorothy and her sisters, Anne, Deanne, Sharon, Gloria and Wendy.
May you rest in peace our dear angel. God knew you were tired, so he brought you home to rest. We pray you will be reunited with the love of your life in heaven.
Till we meet again…
