Obituary for David Pender

On the morning of September 15th, 2019 David Pender transitioned from this life to heaven.

David was born on March 7th 1964 in Brooklyn New York to the late Robert Lee Pender Sr. and Mollie Cecelia Small.

David was a loving son, loving partner, father, uncle , brother and friend. He leaves behind three children Diego Sabala, David Pender Jr (DJ), Cecelia Pender ( CC) , and the mother of all his children Esther Perez.

David was the fifth of six children he leaves behind three sisters Rosalind Pender-Pearson, Deborah Pender and Pamela Pender-Cheatham. Two brothers Robert Lee Pender Jr. and Rickey Pender.

David leaves behind a slew of nieces, nephews and cousins. David also leaves behind his last surviving Aunt Veronica Daniels whom he loved very much. Aunt V is 98 years young.

David was an avid car collector in his spare time. When he wasn’t working at the hospital, he would spend time fixing and fine tuning his cars and making sure they were absolutely spotless. David was known for his one of a kind sense of humor and contagious laughter among family and friends.

David was the head of the Transport Department at Beth Israel, now Mt. Sinai hospital for over 20 years. Aside from being the life, joy and heartbeat of the entire hospital, David was praised and awarded a certificate of recognition for outstanding performance during the 9/11 attacks helping to heal and save many of the injured people.
