Obituary for Frank J. Lackovic

Frank Jerry Lackovic, age 70, of Windham, NY, died June 23, 2017 with loved ones at his side.

The oldest son of Frank and Madelyn Lackovic, Jerry was born and raised in Baldwin, NY and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1964. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Engineering in 1969 from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY.

In 1969, Jerry married Lynn Augerot, of Niagara Falls, NY. They raised their two children in Bellmore, NY. Jerry honorably served his country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972. As an independent computer programming consultant, Jerry worked with banks, financial institutions, and retail companies in the United States and abroad.

Jerry enjoyed a variety of activities. From scuba diving to piloting light aircraft, he liked a good adventure. He participated in road rallies and sailboat races. He was also an avid reader. In retirement, Jerry was a Sea Tow operator on Long Island and a ski instructor in Windham. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends on his sailboat and the slopes.

Jerry is survived by his sweetheart, Lynn Augerot Lackovic, their children Katherine (Nick) Lombardo of Chadds Ford, PA and F. Charles (Erica) Lackovic of Brooklyn, NY, and their four grandchildren, Finley and Miles Lombardo and Rylie and Nathaniel Lackovic. He is also survived by his two brothers, Ralph (Bette) of San Diego, CA and David (Janet Beverly) of Islip, NY, as well as a niece and nephew and their children.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at the Windham-Hensonville United Methodist Church in Windham.

On Long Island, relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, July 6 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Cecere Family Funeral Home in Baldwin.
