The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Lee can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: The media tools your father championed are today’s language of the people. I’ve been inspired by his name and his works for my 30 years of ELCA service. From the Augsburg Confession (ref “Saints”)…their good works are to be an example for us, each of us in his own calling. AMEN to the confession and thanks to God for Robert Lee’s exemplary life.

Condolence: Since reading Bob’s book “My Wings at Sunset,” I had communicated with him about how much I enjoyed the book. I am also from Spring Grove and the Lee family was very highly respected. Bob and I are also fellow Luther alums. My sympathy to the family.

Condolence: It was great getting to know Bob Lee these last few years. Even though I didn’t know him that well before, I always thought that I did, but I knew him by his longer name, “Robert E. A Lee”!
I grew up hearing stories about Elaine and Bob and the rest of those “Naeseth kids”. My Uncle Carlie took many pictures of church events and the Spring Prairie people. I even have a few pictures of Elaine and Bob on their wedding day. As children, my sister and I would look through Carlie & Marie’s photo albums and they would tell us stories about the people and events.
A few years ago when Bob was at Spring Prairie, he asked me if his paintings of the SP parsonage and old church building were still around. I was happy to show them to him, they had been hanging up in the church office for years. I think Sylvia took a few pictures of her Dad standing next to his paintings.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Condolence: WE are so sorry to hear of your loss, and I am so sorry that I did not have the chance to visit with Bob a year ago when the Director of Development of Vesterheim called upon him. His contributions to our society are so many and having grown up in Spring Grove, he is remembered so foundly by those who know him. A group I was a part of last evening in Spring Grove talked a lot about Bob and we would love to remember and honor him this summer, in the town he grew up in.

Condolence: Dear Family and Friends of Bob,
You are experiencing a different loss than others, but Bob’s loss is keenly felt by those of us who worked with him for the church. His work is undoubtably long-lasting, but he is also one of the kindest and most professional and respectful people I have worked with and I will always appreciate that about him as well. My sincere sympathy to all of you who knew him best. Elisabeth
