Obituary for Richard J. Aalbue

Aalbue, Richard John Sr. of Franklin Square formerly of West Hempstead and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn entered into eternal life on October 1, 2012. Husband of the late Catherine nee Kelly. Beloved father of Richard John Jr., and grandfather of his precious granddaughters Jennifer and Mary Beth and grandson Noah. Treasured brother of Edward J., Margaret V. Cecere (Michael J. Jr. ) and Raymond P. (Marianne.) Also survived by his loving nieces Maria (Donna) and Christine (Rob) and nephews Michael (Beth), Paul (Christine), John and Thomas (Jennifer), nine great nieces, two great nephews and one great-great nephew. Rich is a retired police officer of 20 years from the 70 Precinct in Flatbush, Brooklyn and proudly served in the Navy and Navy Reserves for 30 years. He was a member of the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association, VFW, American Legion, a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served as an Usher at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Visiting will be on Thursday, October 4 from 2-5 and 7-9 at the Cecere Family Funeral Home 2283 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, NY. Mass of Christian Burial Friday October 5 at 10 AM, Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 24 Westminster Road, West Hempstead, NY. Interment with full military honors in Calverton National Cemetery.In leui of flowers, donations to The American Lung Association www.lung.org would be appreciated.
