Obituary for Frances Templin Olson

Olson, Frances Templin, Loving and beloved mother of three girls and wife of the late Rev. Dr. Bernhard E. Olson, of Baldwin, NY passed away in hospice on May 30, 2015. As a pastor’s wife, Frances worked at various jobs throughout her life. She worked at her aunt’s bakery, a greeting card factory, and a clothing factory, all in her native Indiana. Other jobs included working as a manager of Kent’s Dry Cleaner’s in Queens Village in NY, to employment for Scuder, Stevens and Clark Brokerage on Wall Street. She also had employment in CT in a garment factory, and later for Citibank in Mellville, LI where she held various positions, including credit card fraud investigator for 25 years. As a Methodist minister’s wife, she held various positions in the church in Hillsdale, NY and Hancock, NY such as running the youth fellowship. She leaves behind three daughters, Sandra Olson, Judith Olson, and Terese Olson, all of Baldwin, NY; her two sisters, Winifred Slater of Hungtington Station, NY and Lois Holdread of Goshen, IN; and numberous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernhard E. Olson, her parents Clinton and Clara Templin, and three baby sisters, Wauneta Helen, Florence Lucille, and Doris Mae. Cremation was private. There will be a memorial service at First Church, Baldwin United Methodist 881 Merrick Rd. Baldwin, NY 11510 on June 13, 2015 at 1 PM. There will be light refreshments afterward.
